Cornell Blog: An unofficial blog about Cornell University

Run! The RIAA is after you again!

Posted in Crime, Electronic, Personal Rant by Cornell's Most Infamous on June 16th, 2007.

Scarier than the Ann Coulter advertisements that have begun appearing on this site, the RIAA has sent pre-litigation letters to another 395 college students. Here’s the list of schools, of which Cornell University is not included:

* North Carolina State University (43)
* University of California – Davis (34)
* University of Nebraska – Lincoln (33)
* University of California – Los Angeles (37
* Drexel University (26)
* University of California – Irvine (23)
* Wichita State University (22)
* Stanford University (19)
* DePaul University (19)
* Rochester Institute of Technology (19)
* University of Chicago (18)
* University of Oregon (17)
* Northwestern University (16)
* Western Washington University (15)
* University of California – Santa Cruz (15)
* Dartmouth College (13)
* University of California – San Diego (9)
* Texas Christian University (7)

Most of the schools appear to be state school, with the humorous exception of Texas Christian. I am not a lawyer, so this is not legal advice, but I sincerely hope that some of these students ignore their letters and fight the RIAA.
