Is this tool really so great?

British Columbia alone beats Cornell. Not to mention Columbia House, DC, Columbia sportswear, City of Columbia, the mis-spelled South American country. Penn is a similar story. You already mention Brown.

Is this tool interesting? Yes. Useful? That's a different story.

But you left out the most interesting part, which is that the trend lines for Yale and Cornell overlap almost perfectly!

If you insert "_____ university", I think the results are more informative. Harvard U and Columbia U have more references than Cornell U, but Cornell U is about even with Princeton U, Brown U, U Penn, and Yale U, and well above Darthmouth.

Just a thought.

Didn't take the time to check out others, but almost all of the hits for Columbia have nothing to do with the university.
