Cornell Webcams
Did you know we have webcams covering much of the Cornell University Campus? The Cornell Website fondly calls it Cornell Live View, where you can go and control or view cameras on Ho Plaza, the Engineering Quad, or Statler Hall. But, what you didn’t know is that all of these cameras also have static views:
This means we take a desktop widget system, like Yahoo/Konfabulator Widgets and put live views of Cornell on our desktop:

There are just three simple steps to get this working:
1) Download the Yahoo Widget Engine
2) Download the World Viewer Widget to your Widgets Directory and run it
3) Create a new file called Cornell.xml with the following contents in the World Viewer cams directory:
<cameras descJustification="right" descPositionX="301" descPositionY="250"><group name="All Cameras"><camera id="0" current="1">

Ho Plaza
</camera><camera id="1">

Engineering Quad
</camera><camera id="2">

A View from Statler Hall
</camera></group></cameras>

This Yahoo! widget thingie is a neat tool, however the camera thingie aint working for me. I did everything listed in the instructions but its keeps giving me the message “Could not Load Camera Image”. Strangely enough all widgets that need web access dont work for me like the maps and temperature widgets. Any insights into why this is happening is appreciated.
