Colin Powell for President
Well, for Cornell President, that is. Since Jeffery Lehman bailed out on Cornell University, to the frustration of students, staff, and trustees, we need to elect a new president for Cornell University. One name that a dedicated group of students are throwing around is that of Colin Powell. On their blog, Powell for Cornell President, you can read more about their serious efforts to nominate Colin Powell for the open position.
The website is being run by ex-Cornell-sun editor in Chief, Andy Guess, a smart and capable young man. If anyone can get Powell to Cornell, it’s him. If you don’t know much about the 65th secretary of state, you can read more about him on Wikipedia.

Powell could be the best thing that ever happen to America should he run for President as an independent. He has my vote and millions more to take control of our nation.
I’d rather see him as the primary candidate on the ‘08 presidential ticket for either party
Powell…This country and the world could use a statesman. He’s the only one I can think of. MBT
Colin Powell must run for president in 2008. He’s the only person with the knowledge of both the miltary and politics. He’s actually been a “boot on the ground”. I trust him more than any other canidate now running for president. He would smash Clinton, Obama, Biden or any of the others. Colin Powell “Please” run for president. Its your duty. thanks
This is a direct plea to General Powell.
Out of all the people in our country who are or who have been part of our Government and Military you are the man of the hour who must meet this challenge, run for the office, and win.
I think of people who have been our President in times of reconstruction. The people I think of are General Washington (Revolution), General Grant (Civil War), and General Eisenhower (World War(s)).
Our nation is on the precipice. We need a true leader who like his predecessors can lead the nation through these times. You have the most experience and pedigree to lead US.
My hope is this message may find its way to you.
Colin Powell should become more involved in the selection for a new leader of the USA. I hope he would consider running for president of the USA. As a Democrat or a Republican or even as an Independent if the main parties are not within reality. He would have to come clean about his involvment with the Bush Admionistration but I think the people of the US will go with him.
We need a great leader, someone that whose views and thoughts on Iraq are proving to be dead-on. America, the melting-pot of the world, a country based on multi-culturalism, needs multi-lateralism in it’s foreign policy, not unilateralism which is proving to be the downfall of America, and the root cause of America’s failure in the war against terrorism. Mr. Powell is highly respected in the world and has the stature to rebuild the world’s attitude towards America. Do I fault him for his UN speech? Somewhat, but mainly for resisting his gut feeling on the data. But I also have to give him that there is growing evidence that there was a determined force pushing to prove the case for war that went from senior levels down to the pressure put on intelligence analysts. Can I fully blame Powell for being shown data that really was a well orchestrated biased documentary produced by the war regime? Mr. Powell is a smart man, learning from past mistakes and solving problems. He is known for applying the appropriate level of resources to assure success. Would we have seen a different aftermath of Katrina if Powell was invlolved? Absolutely. So many views of the current regime have been or are being proven wrong. From troop levels to the cost of the war be paid for buy Iraqi oil. This regime has not proven itself in the real world, they have lived a sheltered life in government life or acedemia. Powells doctrines have proven correct in the first Iraq war and if they have been applied to Katrina, foregn policy, the second Iraq war, the war on terrorism, how could anyone say today that America would not be in a far better place today?
So Mr. Powell, if you are out there, America is in need of leadership, and you sir are clearly the right man at the right time! I do not know anyone amongst my friends, from the neo-con and conservative to liberal that would not vote for you. You clearly have the broad appeal needed to pull the country together and back on track to regaining America’s leadership back in this world.
Powell is the best choice for President in 2008. He will follow in the footsteps of Dwight Eisenhower. He will get us out of and keep us out of war.
Colin Powell was an awesome Sec. of State, esp. when compared to our current version.
He would be a great president.
Colin Powell, 2008 is your time in history. Run for president and help America get back on track. America will support you.
